Aifiyan: A Tale of Love and Loss

Aifiyan, a young beautiful and highly intelligent woman from a small village surrounded by hills and rich vegetation. The calm environment and the natural beauty made the village wonderful. She was as innocent as the water stream which passed through the village and swirled around. She was loved by all her family and friends people enjoyed being with her mostly because of her gentle nature. She was so kind to all.

Aifiyan’s escape finally came in the form of a handsome young prince named Kaelan who wrecked her entire world and made the impossible possible. It was love at first sight and love at a deeper level, the type that did not require any spoken language. Kaelan found Aifiyan attractive, intelligent, and loyal. They were together most of the days, and their affection deepened with each consecutive day.

But they did not experience the joy for very long. A nasty conflict arose between Kaelan’s territory and a country that was close by. War broke out and Kaelan had to go to defend his people leaving behind Aifiyan. He left and as was the custom in those parts pledged to come back with the spoils of war and marry Aifiyan.

Kaelan is a separate character in this part of the story and during his absence the main female character named Aifiyan feels anticipation of his coming and she suffers from longing. The woman devoted her time to her garden – this is what she has been expecting and loving. The other villagers provided her comfort and tried to encourage her but nothing could reduce the agony of parting.

Four to five weeks transitioned to four to five months, and there wasn’t any update regarding Kaelan. Aifiyan started feeling less and less hopeful after Amanah didn’t offer her the job required in her field of study. She thought the worst, as many citizens were sure that their beloved prince had been killed in the war. When the villagers spoke to her in a bid to comfort her, she simply refused to hear what they were saying.

Of course, one day a messenger came with bad news that could hardly be called unexpected. Kaelan had died in the battle, fighting for his kingdom and was indeed honorable. Aifiyan was much startled and her heart was breaking into pieces. She cried without restrain, mourning taking the best of her.

Over time Aifiyan was able to come to terms with her loss, she had accepted all this. She was a very kind hearted women who spent a lot of her life trying to make the world a better place. Many years passed by, but she never forget about Kaelan, and his name inspired her during all the time.

Even though Aifiyan had an unhappy love story, her character is not portrayed as a broken woman. She went on and the world was a testimony that love, and the human heart for that matter, can triumph over the course of time.
